Christmas Friendship Tea

On Friday 6th December 12 – 3pm St Augustine’s is holding a Christmas Party in the hall especially aimed at the bereaved, those who live alone or who feel lonely, and people who are cared for and their carers. If you know anyone who would benefit from an afternoon with food, friends, music, local support and bingo please put their names and telephone number on the pad at the back of the church and we can contact them.

This dementia friendly party has received funding from the Community Investment Board.  If you would like to help on the day, please have a chat with Barbara Black and of course please continue knitting the Issy Dolls so we can give them all a little gift on behalf of the church.

BELOW - A Link to the Issy Doll for those who would like to knit a few as gifts for our guests at the part - with thanks.

Christmas Donation Day

As we have done the past two years, this Advent Sunday we will be collecting your donations of festive food items, new toys, gifts and pre-loved festive jumpers and books.  Please see the poster below for more details on what is required and who your donations will benefit.

We will collect your donations at St Augustine’s on the morning of Advent Sunday (1st December) and deliver them to the Methodist Church on your behalf after the 10am service.  Thank you in advance!

David Pearce is growing a Movember Beard

Retired priest and bell-ringer at St Augustine’s, David, is growing a full beard for Movember and would be grateful of our support.  Movember is an annual event involving the growing of facial hair during the month of November to raise awareness of men's physical and mental health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide.  If you would like to give, please catch David at the end of one of our 10am services.  The picture to the left is the smooth-faced ‘before’.
