Baby Loss Awareness Week - Special Service on Sunday
This Sunday we will be hosting a special service during Baby Loss Awareness Week. Working alongside Amanda Cushing - our local NHS Bereavement Specialist Midwife, the special service at 4pm on Sunday is an opportunity for families who have experiences baby loss in any way to come together and remember those children. All are welcome. You may notice that the outside of the church is lit up blue and pink this week in recognition of this.
David Pearce is growing a Movember Beard
Retired priest and bell-ringer at St Augustine’s, David, is growing a full beard for Movember and would be grateful of our support. Movember is an annual event involving the growing of facial hair during the month of November to raise awareness of men's physical and mental health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. If you would like to give, please catch David at the end of one of our 10am services. The picture to the left is the smooth-faced ‘before’.
Dear friends,
Below are some pictures of our Harvest Festival Celebrations.
We have the Thorpe Bay Floral Arrangement Group to thank for wonderful flowers in Church. Sylv and her team did a fantastic job as usual and made the church look beautiful for our Sunday services.
On the Saturday evening we enjoyed a Harvest Supper and Quiz in the church hall. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this event. A special thank you to Paul and Suzanne, Megan and Adam, Sarah-jane, and those others who helped set up, clear down or grabbed a tea towel!
Finally in the pictures, is one of me standing with Dan Hotten from HARP with an estate car overflowing with your Harvest donations. It was an overwhelmingly generous lot of food and other items for HARP. Thank you to Dan for speaking to us in church, to John and Jack for dropping it all to HARP, and to you all for your generosity.
As well as the enormous load of food, together, across the weekend, we raised £870 for HARP. A huge thank you to you all.
