In May this year, St Augustine's turns 90! Our beautiful, unique church building was opened in May 1935, an we feel that our 90th is well worth celebrating.
On Sunday 18th May we will have just one service, a big celebratory one at 11am. This will be led by the Bishop of Bradwell, the Right Reverend Adam Atkinson, and will be an opportunity for us to give thanks for the church we love.
Directly after the service, we will have lunch in the hall. Expect welcome drinks, groaning tables full of delicious food, a bouncy castle for the children, and some light entertainment for all. We are delighted that we will be joined by the fabulous Southend Vox Chamber Choir who will be singing a selection of songs from across the past 9 decades!
To give us an idea of numbers for the lunch, please let us know you'll be attending by either signing up at the back of church or emailling Rev Dave.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
