Each year the parish organises a day trip in the summer or early autumn; to date we have been to Cambridge, Canterbury, Norwich, St Albans, Rochester, St Albans and Windsor.
In addition overseas trips of six days or so have taken place to Istanbul, Estonia, Romania, Ravenna and Padua, Portugal, Spain, Berlin and Santiago De Compostela in Spain.
2019 Parish Trip to- Windsor.
In July this year a coach party from church went to visit Windsor. The weather was perfect as was the journey there. Occupying 13 acres the castle dominates Windsor's landscape. It has been home to the Royal family for 900 years and hosted two royal weddings last year. When we arrived the queue for the castle was two hours long so I am not sure how many of the group were willing to wait but a few of us decided to 'do' the Hop on Hop Off sightseeing bus tour for £15.00, This took half hour and included a detailed and interesting tour commentary. The bus took us through the village of Datchet which was mentioned in 'Three men in a Boat (to say nothing of the dog) a film with Jimmy Edwards, which I for one watched as a child, and loved!
We went on to Eton Collage and past the letterbox (one of only 4 or 5 in the country) with a letter slot going downward instead of across (see photo). We passed The long Walk and the Windsor Farm Shop and passed Frogmore House where Harry and Megan now live.
The whole day was completed by a beautiful Evensong in St George's Chapel and a safe journey home.
Many thanks to Pam for her photos
23rd June 2018 - Coach Trip
On Sat 23rd June there was a parish day out to Guildford, leaving at 9am from the church and returning after evensong at Guildford Cathedral at 5pm.
The coach trip was a brilliant success where we were able to hear a Handbell Ringing Service in Guilford's Cathederal - if anyone has photos taken on the day please pass them on for inclusion on the website - many thanks
A few photos from our very recent trip to Rochester. If anyone has any other photo's they'd like to see on the website please send them to me. Many thanks.
