A new series of concerts is planned for 2018. Initial details are below, concerts will start at 7pm or 7:30pm followed by refreshments. Information updated as we receive it:
Saturday 19th May - Gaudeamus Choir: The brilliant Gaudeamus, one of Southend's leading choirs are returning to St Augustine's on 19th May (the day of the Royal Wedding) at 7.30pm presenting 'Summer is icumen in'. A selection of choral music for a summer's evening including folk songs, barbershop, madrigals and a tribute to the Royal couple. Not sure yet if this is a paying concert or a retiring collection for church funds - but it will be followed by refreshments!
See a picture of Gaudeamus below
More Dates for your calendar:
20th May - Confirmation: On Sun 20th May we shall be honoured to welcome Stephen Cottrell, Bishop of Chelmsford to the 10am service to conduct a confirmation. So if you have never got around to being confirmed when younger (or christened, for that matter), or if your children are Year 6 or above, then now is the time to think about making a commitment. Come and have a word with Fr Chris or myself - all preparation is done on a bespoke basis. Fr Jonathan
23rd June - Coach Trip: On Sat 23rd June there will be a parish day out to Guildford, leaving at 9am from the church and returning after evensong at Guildford Cathedral at 5pm. Final costs etc in due course, but put this in your diaries now! Fr Jonathan

All Souls Service. All Soulstide in early November is that time when the Church especially remembers all those who have died and those who mourn them.
We are located in the middle of Thorpe Bay, about two miles east of Southend on Sea and just a short walk from the sea front. We are easily accessible by train (Thorpe Bay station is on the main line from London Fenchurch Street) and bus (Nos 1, 7 and 9), and there is ample on-street parking around the church. The church itself is on an island site at the junction of Johnstone Road and St Augustine’s Avenue.
Our address is:
St Augustine’s Church,
St Augustine’s Avenue,
Thorpe Bay, Essex.
