The Baptism of Freddie George Alexander Valente on 25th March 2018 - photo by kind permission of Freddie's parents
St Augustine's is a popular choice for Baptisms, otherwise known as Christening, and the Vicar is always delighted to talk to families about this very special service.
Babies and small children are generally baptised after a couple of visits to talk through the service and the meaning and significance of baptism.
The service can either take place during our normal 10 am Sunday Service, with the entire congregation participating; or if you prefer a more private occasion, can take place at noon on a Sunday with family and friends present.
Adults and older children are prepared for baptism and confirmation on an individual basis.
Please note that there is no fee for a baptism.

We are located in the middle of Thorpe Bay, about two miles east of Southend on Sea and just a short walk from the sea front. We are easily accessible by train (Thorpe Bay station is on the main line from London Fenchurch Street) and bus (Nos 1, 7 and 9), and there is ample on-street parking around the church. The church itself is on an island site at the junction of Johnstone Road and St Augustine’s Avenue.
